Cymbidium eburneum

This single flowered or occasionally 2 or 3 flowered species has been used a lot in hybrids. Although having very few flowers this species still attracts attention. The scape is between 25 and 36 cm with large 8 - 12 cm white or faintly pink flowers with a sweet lilac scent.
Culture
We grow and flower this species under shadecloth in Melbourne. It flowers in September - October for us.
Habitat
On trees in warm, damp forest, in shade.
